Hot Dog @ El Loco

In my opinion one of the best hot dogs you will find in Sydney is at El Loco (which can be found either at Slip Inn in the CBD or at Excelsior Hotel in Surry Hills). The menu at El Loco has been designed by renowned Merivale chef, Dan Hong. On this occasion I was at El Loco at Slip Inn, which I understand is a permanent fixture and has replaced the previous menu which included Thai food and pizzas.

What we have here is the most artery clogging, tasty hot dog you can find in Sydney. The house-made  frankfurt is topped with crazy amounts of finely grated queso fresca cheese, which melts in your mouth. To give the hot dog a bit of a kick, the hot dog contains pico de gallo, mustard relish, jalapenos and mayo. All of these tasty ingredients are encased in a fresh, pillow soft bun. And of course, the hot dog should be washed down with  a Corona with a portion of lime.

I believe Slip Inn has changed for the better: the setting is much more fun and lively and the Mexican menu is a vast improvement over the previous menu. I would recommend El Loco at Slip Inn to anyone for either lunch or after work drinks.
